MEDAN. BPM USU – The Quality Assurance Agency of Universitas Sumatera Utara (BPM USU) held a Workshop on Filling Out the Accreditation Instruments of the Independent Accreditation Agency for Engineering Study Programs (LAM Teknik) within the university.
LAM Teknik is an independent accreditation body responsible for conducting the accreditation process for engineering study programs in Indonesia. According to Law No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, Article 55, Paragraph 6, study program accreditation is conducted by an Independent Accreditation Agency (LAM), while the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) focuses more on developing the national accreditation system and accrediting institutions. Furthermore, the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 5 of 2020 on Accreditation of Study Programs and Higher Education, Article 36, Paragraph 2, states that independent accreditation agencies are formed based on disciplines, clusters, and/or branches of science.
The workshop was held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 08:30 AM until completion, conducted offline in the video conference room on the 4th floor of the Central Administration Bureau of USU. This workshop aimed to enhance the understanding of the Faculty of Engineering leaders and study program managers whose accreditation expires in 2023 or early 2024, particularly regarding the procedures for completing the Study Program Performance Report (LKPS) and the Self-Evaluation Report (LED).
