The workshop was officially opened by USU Vice Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH., MA. In his remarks, he conveyed that program accreditation is a comprehensive evaluation and assessment process of a program's commitment to quality and its capacity to implement the university's threefold mission (education, research, and community service).

Accreditation also determines whether a study program is eligible to offer its academic programs. A program's quality reflects the overall condition and characteristics of its input, process, output, outcomes, and impact or services, which are measured using predetermined criteria.
